Queeny: The calm before the Storm
Today, on our way home from Rivergate we encountered the most frightening thing. We were going north on I-65, when we were about to pass over Long Hollow where Metro Baptist and K-Mart were on the right. I looked out my left window and there it was! The funnel coming down out of the sky. We were SO scared! The tornado came down, flipped a car over behing us, went over the interstate and destroyed Metro Baptist Church! The hail was coming down so hard and so fast I could hardly see the road. Meanwhile, the tornado is still behind us. Gary called and was telling Queeny that we needed to turn around and go back. I'm thinking, "Is he CRAZY"?He thought the tornado was ahead of us; we knew it was behind us. We made it to our house and ran inside. Being pelted with all the hail on the way to the door was not pleasant, trust me. Little Sparklepuff didn't utter a peep the whole time. Once in the basement, puff was under the desk, Queeny was in the corner wearing my bicycle helment, and I crouched under a chair. For what seemed like an eternity we waited, and waited. During this period of waiting, the terrible sounds were incessant. We just knew there would be no upstairs when we finally could venture forth to check out the damage. Upon opening the door, everything was fine. We were so shaken, yet so thankful. Now, after the fact, we know we are extremely blessed. As of now, there are nine confirmed dead in Gallatin. Sold out and Lukolas were kept at school and were spared the horror. Our hearts go out to all those experiencing unbearable loss due to the tornado we outran. The time is now12:15 am and the knot in my stomach is starting to ease some. I always wondered what it would be like to be a storm chaser. Now, I know what it's like to have the storm chase me.

My Gosh! I heard all about that. I've been scouring the news and your blogs to find out if y'all were ok! That's going to be a story to tell!
My sister (who you met in IN) happened to be travelling through to Madisonville, KY, and I guess she missed it by about 5 minutes. She stopped in the Mount Juliet Cracker Barrel, about the same time you guys were running from the tornado.
Glad you all are ok!
wow, I can't believe that. That's incredible. Thank God you are OK! God's Grace!
Thanks eucharisto and nunzia for being concerned for us. This 'close call story' is nothing compared to what others have been through and lost. On the other hand, God's grace is so AWESOME! It was not His time for us to go.
Would I still be saying that is AWESOME if I had lost little Sparklepuff or the Queen?
All I know, is that when I did not know if Lukolas was going to live through the wreck, I remember telling God that Lukolas was His and that I would be able to live through whatever was His will (with His help of course).
Let's remember to pray for the ones that have lost loved ones, homes and all they held dear in this world.
It was sooo freaky! But in a strange way, lots of fun. I'm glad we're alive!
wow i am thankful that GOd was with you all that day. he was definitly with pennylane and i that's for sure. in fact he was with thousands of us that day. i never saw such power from God until that day. HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD!! thank GOD your okay. miss you guys. your story sounds like an adventure.
I'm so glad you are all ok :) I have a new post if you would like to read it. I think it's the first one that is truly "The life of a music major" Thanks for reading faithfully!
I wish I could have been there. I'm glad you guys are safe and that you didn't DIE! Even though if you died, you would be feeling sorry for us because we have to spend one more second on this God-forsaken land!
Thank you for the sweet comment. By the way, did you go to Breckenridge a few months ago with Mrs. Clarkson? If you did you met my mom. Just a random thought :)
Actually, I've never met her. I'd like to and I'm sure I will someday. My family loves Eucharisto and I'm sure the rest of the family is just as charming.
scary and exciting! Glad you are safe.

Thank you for keeping in touch! Yes, school has been finished for about 3 weeks and I am very happy with the end results. I'm enjoying relaxing and teaching some violin lessons now and I spent last week in Florida. How is your family?
Oh my God! Glad you are safe!
Thanks so much for leaving me a note on my blog. Take a look at the 'store' tag on my blog for a bunch of store that stock Indian furniture and fabric. Also, Apartment Therapy recently did a post with a few links to such stores: http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/dc/books-guides-resources/passage-to-india-resources-for-south-asian-home-accents-140398?image_id=2270064
