The Queen and I Outran A Tornado Today!

Queeny: The calm before the Storm

Today, on our way home from Rivergate we encountered the most frightening thing. We were going north on I-65, when we were about to pass over Long Hollow where Metro Baptist and K-Mart were on the right. I looked out my left window and there it was! The funnel coming down out of the sky. We were SO scared! The tornado came down, flipped a car over behing us, went over the interstate and destroyed Metro Baptist Church! The hail was coming down so hard and so fast I could hardly see the road. Meanwhile, the tornado is still behind us. Gary called and was telling Queeny that we needed to turn around and go back. I'm thinking, "Is he CRAZY"?
He thought the tornado was ahead of us; we knew it was behind us. We made it to our house and ran inside. Being pelted with all the hail on the way to the door was not pleasant, trust me. Little Sparklepuff didn't utter a peep the whole time. Once in the basement, puff was under the desk, Queeny was in the corner wearing my bicycle helment, and I crouched under a chair. For what seemed like an eternity we waited, and waited. During this period of waiting, the terrible sounds were incessant. We just knew there would be no upstairs when we finally could venture forth to check out the damage. Upon opening the door, everything was fine. We were so shaken, yet so thankful. Now, after the fact, we know we are extremely blessed. As of now, there are nine confirmed dead in Gallatin. Sold out and Lukolas were kept at school and were spared the horror. Our hearts go out to all those experiencing unbearable loss due to the tornado we outran. The time is now12:15 am and the knot in my stomach is starting to ease some. I always wondered what it would be like to be a storm chaser. Now, I know what it's like to have the storm chase me.

Yes, I believe I did. Kevin Max was here last Tuesday night. I'm still wondering why I did not go to see him at the Exit/In. Maybe it had something to do with a certain Queen 'just not feeling it'. WHATEVER!!!!!!! HOW does one NOT feel Kevin Max? Maybe Queeny is getting old, and it was just too much trouble to go out(love you Queeny). Gosh! So here's to being practical and making choices about having too much to do, having to get up early, having to fill out camp applications..so on and so on. I just hope you can live with yourself after what you caused me to do..MISS KEVIN MAX!

This is Tin Pan Alley week in Nashville. Songwriters, singers and performers are everywhere. OK, I regret not going....I think if I blame it on HER, I'll feel better. A great guy called to see if I wanted to go. OK, I'm retarded!!! It's not her fault after all, I had 2 chances to go. Sometimes choices really bite!

On a more positive note:

The Nashville Film Festival will be April 21-26 if you want to come. I AM going to that (Lord willing).

I would post the pictures of what everyone looked like after this, but not all involved would be happy about it. Let's just say that bed-head was running rampant, which I love. A wonderful time was had by all. No toast at midnight though. Waltz night will never be the same, but missed and longed for by all. Shall we plan another one? Yes, yes indeed!

Is It A Sickness?

Oh no! It started at the end of the house. The end where Lukolas has his room. Then, it went to the room of Soldout, but it didn't stop there. Now, it's in the dining room and this morning overflowed to the kitchen cabinets, floor and walls. Will it ever end?

This you see, is the remodeling project that I started after Queen and I returned from our trip to Masterworks to see Eucharisto this summer.

Yes, Lukolas has the perfect room for HIM. It totally reflects HIS personality(crazy, fun, neat, clean and exciting). The same goes for Soldout, except his is very Him (neat, clean, calming, restful and tasteful). It is not hard to see they each have very different tastes and personalities. I might add they picked out everything from colors to furniture.

Here's the problem. I can't stop! With those rooms looking so much better, I kept going. Even now there is a new floor being laid in the dining room! The cabinet doors are off in the kitchen. The tile floor in the kitchen is being removed, electronics are being replaced, so much is being thrown away...... Where or when will it end? I can't stop!

Overall, I guess this is a good thing, except for the fact that Queen's room will be last(she's off at college, she'll never know the difference right?!).

Another good thing is that I have all kinds of help and encouragement. It is such a blessing to be loved so much and to have so many friends. All I needed was a little friendly push. See what YOU have done!

GOODBYE TO 'A LA CAKES' A TRIBUTE

A LA CAKES BAKERY IS CLOSING. THIS IS SO HARD. THESE ARE DEAR FRIENDS TO US AND SO MANY OTHERS. I SAW THESE DEAR ONES GIVE FOOD TO SO MANY PEOPLE IN NEED. THIS BUSINESS WAS RUN BY CHRISTIANS THAT GAVE SO MUCH MORE THAN THEY EVER RECEIVED IN REVENUE. WHEN GARY WAS OUT OF WORK DUE TO HIS PARTNER'S DISHONEST USE OF COMPANY MONEY, THESE FRIENDS FED US AND GAVE ME RAISES IN PAY I KNEW I DID NOT DESERVE. GOD KNOWS IT WASN'T DUE TO MY MAD CAKE DECORATING SKILLS. THE GOODNESS OF THESE DEAR ONES WILL I TAKE WITH ME ALWAYS. THEY HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH THEY BLESSED OTHERS. THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE HAS SUFFERED A LOSS. MAY GOD BLESS THE DUDAR FAMILY AS THEY TRUST GOD WITH THEIR FUTURE. I LOVE YOU GUYS AND DON'T FORGET, YOU ARE MY FAVORITE ROMANIANS. Yes! Gary, Lukolas and Soldoutmonkey took the hard top off the jeep and put on the soft top. Finally, the back glass got fixed and we could get the soft top on. I have waited and waited for this. Labor Day was great, and we took the Queen back to college that night. I somehow don't think she enjoyed the back seat with the top down. All I know is that we sure had a great time in the front! I lood forward to many sunny days in the jeep and cool nights with the top down. Dear friends, it's jeep party time!

ALL OF A SUDDEN, IT WENT TO JEEEEEEEEEEPUH. THEN PLAIN AS DAY SHE SAID,"JEEP! MIMI IT'S JEEP!"
YES, O HAPPY DAY, SHE HAD READ HER FIRST WORD AND IT WAS "JEEP".TO SAY THE LEAST, I WAS SO EXCITED AND HAD TO CALL PAPY AND A FEW FRIENDS. I KNEW ALL OF YOU WOULD WANT TO KNOW THIS, AND TO FURTHER HER SCHOOLING, WATCH FOR HER BLOG TO APPEAR SOON.
